In this panel, production designers François Séguin (Brooklyn, Barbarian Invasions) and Emmanuel Fréchette (Two Lovers and a Bear, Monsieur Lazhar) converse about building character and story into the visual elements of a project when they are not written into the script and you are allowed the space to create back stories that continue telling the story. How do you build character and/or visual story when there is little to work from off the page? This is where the art department shines.
